From outside in inside October to December 2024
Franki's new piece, "Beheer Boogie," will premiere during the exhibition From Outside to Inside at CODA in Apeldoorn, running from October 6th to December 8th, 2024.
'‘Beheer Boogie’ is an homage to the beautiful Centraal Beheer offices in Apeldoorn. The music’s climactic collage of cadences mirrors the building’s sprawling collection of repeating forms, linked and stacked together like building blocks. The music shifts and transforms, echoing Hertzberger's ideas about how buildings should grow and adapt with their occupants, always evolving to achieve their purpose. Yet, like Hertzberger’s Centraal Beheer Building, it ultimately remains unfulfilled.’
‘Beheer Boogie’ is a vibrant collage of difference camp, fun and grotesque styles of music. Drawing influence from cartoons such as Tom and Jerry and the Muppets’ Bobby Benson’s Baby Band encapsulating the ever ending story of Hertzberger’s Beheer Building.
